For the past year and half I've been quite obsessed with cigar boxes.  I had no idea how diverse and versatile cigar boxes could be until I started working with them.  I've made a lot of different styles of purses, and I'm still amazed at how many different things I can do with them.

In the beginning, I tried to do some simple decoupage with wallpaper remnants, magazine paper, calendar paper, scrapbooking paper, etc.

I've since graduated to add more embellishments on top of the existing decoupaged image, such as dimensional paint, stickers, glitter, beads, etc.

This is one my latest attempts at finding yet another way to decoupage a simple box and turn into something amazing.  I had found these beautiful napkins while shopping at Cost Plus and I knew instantly I wanted to use them for a decoupage project.  Since my travel theme purses have always been popular I decided to decoupaged a purse with them.  I took the design all the way around, which always makes it even more special.  I then finished the top of the design with handmade and tissue paper.  I love the end result what do you think?

I will never tire of the many ways in which one simple box can be decorated and brought to an entire different level!  A little paper, a little glue, and a few doodads and you can create something amazing!
